Terms of Service

Last updated: 9 October 2026

1 Who you're contracting with

Tale Studio ("Tale Studio," "we," "us") is operated by Talestudio, a sole proprietorship registered in the Republic of Korea.

  • Business name: Talestudio
  • Owner / legal representative: Daewon Yoon
  • Business Registration Number: 333-27-02069
  • Registered address: 169 Dolma-ro, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea, 13606
  • Email: support@talestudio.art

These Terms govern your access to and use of the Tale Studio website, application, and related services (the "Service").

2 Payments and Creem checkout

Paid purchases are not currently available on Tale Studio. You can view plans and Take packs, but cannot buy them yet.

We plan to offer subscriptions and Take packs through Creem as Merchant of Record when paid checkout opens. At that point, the seller and payment processor shown at checkout and on the receipt will handle payment and applicable transaction taxes. Creem's Buyer Terms will apply to purchases made through its checkout, alongside our Refund & Cancellation Policy. We will update this section when checkout is live. For product, account, or planned billing questions, contact us at support@talestudio.art.

3 Scope of the Service

Tale Studio is a film pre-production and previsualization workspace for filmmakers. You begin with your own film idea prompt, treatment, screenplay document, story outline, dialogue, or descriptions of characters and locations. The Service helps develop and organize that material through staged work on the story, characters, locations, shot plans, and storyboards, then uses AI tools to create planning imagery and previsualization video. These outputs help filmmakers evaluate and communicate a project before production; Tale Studio is not a substitute for a full production or post-production pipeline.

How you use what you generate is up to you, subject to the AI use and content rules in §13-§17 and to any rights third parties hold in your source material.

The features available on the Service, and what each plan includes, are described on our website and change as the product develops. The Privacy Policy always describes what we currently collect.

4 Accounts

  • You must provide accurate registration information and are responsible for activity under your account and any team members you invite under an "Account" seat (our pricing page explains what an Account seat is).
  • You must be 18 or older to hold a Tale Studio account. Accounts are contracts, and the account holder is responsible for everything done through them.
  • Supervised use by under-18s is permitted. A school, university, studio, or other organisation, or a parent or legal guardian, may hold an account and allow people under 18 to use it under their supervision. In that case the account holder, not the supervised user, is our customer: they accept these Terms, are responsible for all activity on the account, and are responsible for obtaining any parental or institutional consent their own law requires. We do not create accounts directly for people under 18.
  • You can sign in using the methods shown on the current sign-in screen. Google sign-in is available. If email-and-password sign-in is made available, authentication for that method is handled through our authentication provider, Supabase. Keep the account and credentials you use to sign in secure. You are responsible for activity through your signed-in session.
  • If you lose access to the account you use to sign in, contact support before deleting or changing that account.
  • We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these Terms, the Acceptable Use rules in §6, or the AI use and content rules in §13-§17.

5 Subscriptions, renewal, and cancellation

  • Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected) until cancelled.
  • Once paid subscriptions open, you will be able to cancel auto-renewal through the cancellation route shown in the Service. You may also contact support for help. Cancellation takes effect as described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
  • We may change plan pricing or Take allowances prospectively, with notice before your next renewal; changes do not apply retroactively to a period you've already paid for.
  • If a renewal payment fails, for example because a card has expired, we may ask you to update your payment method and may limit paid features while the payment remains outstanding. The payment and subscription status will be shown in your account or communicated to you.

6 Acceptable use: prohibited conduct

You may not use the Service to:

  • Violate the AI use and content rules in §13-§17, including prompting a generated character to resemble a specific real person, generating sexual content involving minors, or producing content designed to defame, harass, or impersonate.
  • Circumvent usage limits, obtain programmatic access other than through an interface we make available to you for that purpose, or use automated means to abuse free tiers or trial mechanisms.
  • Upload or generate content that infringes a third party's copyright, trademark, or right of publicity.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying models or system prompts of the Service.
  • Use the Service in a way that violates applicable law, including export-control or sanctions law.

7 Intellectual property

  • You retain ownership of the prompts, scripts, and reference assets you upload, subject to the license you grant us to process them in order to provide the Service (see the Privacy Policy).
  • As between you and Tale Studio, we do not claim ownership of the output generated for you. Any rights you have in an output depend on applicable law, your rights in the input, and the terms of the underlying AI models. Some jurisdictions do not recognize copyright in purely AI-generated output; we cannot guarantee that an output is copyrightable, unique, or free of third-party rights.
  • You grant us a limited licence to store, process, transmit, and display your inputs and your generated output solely to operate the Service for you, for example to render your project, deliver files, and keep your work available in your workspace. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, subject to the retention periods in the Privacy Policy.
  • We retain all rights in the Tale Studio platform, agents, UI, and underlying software.

8 Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service and its output are provided "as is." AI-generated video/image output can be inaccurate, inconsistent, or unsuitable for a given use; you are responsible for reviewing output before relying on it commercially. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tale Studio's aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9 Closing your account

You can delete your Tale Studio account at any time from your account settings, or by emailing support@talestudio.art. Deleting your account cancels any auto-renewing subscription, ends your access to projects and generated output, and starts the deletion timelines set out in the Privacy Policy.

Closing your account is final. Any Take still in your balance, including purchased Take, and the unused remainder of a paid period are forfeited when the account closes, subject to any refund eligibility under our Refund & Cancellation Policy and any non-waivable rights under applicable law. Export anything you want to keep before you close the account.

If you only want to stop being billed, cancel your subscription instead of deleting the account. Cancelling leaves your account open, and purchased Take packs stay usable until they expire.

10 Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service develops. Where a change is material we will give reasonable notice by email or in the product, and the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not accept them, you may close your account.

11 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.

Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us at support@talestudio.art so we can try to resolve the matter directly; most issues are settled this way.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be brought exclusively before the Suwon District Court, Seongnam Branch, Republic of Korea. Nothing in this section deprives you of any mandatory consumer-protection right, or of the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country of residence, where the law of that country grants you that right and it cannot be waived by agreement.

12 Contact

Questions about these Terms or the Service: support@talestudio.art. We aim to respond to customer support requests within 3 business days.

13 Real people

Characters in your output are synthetic, generated from the material you provide. You may not use Tale Studio to create content depicting a specific, identifiable real person, living or dead, public figure or private individual, unless you hold that person's consent, or another lawful basis, for the use you are making. This applies however the resemblance is achieved, including by written description alone. Consent does not permit the face swapping, deepfakes, or face-manipulation uses prohibited in §15.

You also may not use the Service or its output to identify, verify, authenticate, track, or surveil any individual, or to build or train facial-recognition or biometric-matching systems.

14 Copyright and third-party rights

You must hold the rights to the written material you upload. This matters most when you are adapting existing work: if you are turning a novel, comic, webtoon, screenplay, or other third-party property into pre-visualization, you need the rights or a licence to do so. Uploading someone else's script or story without permission is a breach of these terms and may infringe their copyright.

Do not direct the Service to reproduce a specific copyrighted character, work, or another creator's protected style in a way that would infringe their rights. You are responsible for ensuring both your inputs and your use of the output comply with copyright and right-of-publicity law in your jurisdiction.

15 Prohibited content

Tale Studio is a professional pre-visualization tool. The following are prohibited outright, and attempting them is grounds for immediate termination:

Sexual content

  • Any sexual, sexualized, pornographic, or otherwise obscene content. Adult content is not permitted on Tale Studio in any form, regardless of the ages or consent of those depicted.
  • Any sexual or sexualized depiction of a minor, in any style, including fictional, animated, or stylized depictions.

Real people

  • Content depicting a specific, identifiable real person without the consent or lawful basis required by §13, including public figures, celebrities, and deceased individuals.
  • Deepfakes: presenting generated output as genuine footage of a real person or event.
  • Face swapping, face manipulation, or voice cloning of a real person, even with that person's consent.
  • Content that impersonates a real person or organization.

Harm and unlawful use

  • Content that incites violence, promotes terrorism or violent extremism, or harasses, defames, threatens, or degrades a specific individual or group.
  • Content designed to deceive for financial gain: fraudulent advertising, fake endorsements, fabricated news, or synthetic evidence.
  • Anything unlawful in the jurisdiction where it is created or published.
  • Anything that violates the content policies of the model providers we route your request to.

16 How we enforce this

  • Screening and model-provider filters. We screen user-supplied text prompts routed to image or video generation, including free generations, with Creem's Moderation API before sending them to a model. We block requests that Creem flags or denies, and temporarily block generation if the screening service is unavailable. Blocked requests do not reach an image or video model and do not consume a Take or plan-included generation allowance. Third-party model providers listed in the Privacy Policy may also refuse requests under their own content rules. No filter is guaranteed to catch every prohibited request; compliance with §15 remains your responsibility.
  • Reporting. Content can be reported to support@talestudio.art. Include a link or enough detail to locate it. We review the reports we receive and act on them where we consider action warranted. See our Acceptable Use Policy for a summary of the content rules and reporting process.
  • Account action. We may remove violating content and suspend or terminate accounts. Where an account is terminated for a serious or repeated breach, Take remaining in its balance are not refunded. Severe violations, including any attempt to generate sexual content involving minors, result in immediate permanent termination.

17 Commercial use of output

Output you generate may be used commercially, for example in a pitch deck, a client presentation, or as a planning reference for a funded production. This is subject to: (a) your compliance with §13-§15, (b) the licence terms of any underlying model provider, which may restrict commercial redistribution of raw model output, and (c) any limits set out for your plan on our pricing page, including which files that plan lets you export.
